Raised in Northfield, New Jersey, she pursued education at several esteemed institutions, culminating with a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology/sociology from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 1994. Jennifer's educational journey also includes the prestigious Owner President Manager (OPM) Key Executive Program and the Families in Business Program at Harvard University.
Briefly venturing out of New Jersey, Jennifer worked for Vendor Surveillance Corporation in Newport Beach, California. By 1998, she had returned to New Jersey, immersing herself in the family business. She played pivotal roles, notably spearheading the development of the upscale Hidden Creek Golf Club.
Deeply committed to addiction recovery, Jennifer has been sober since March 3, 1996, actively supporting countless individuals and groups by sharing her resilience story. She sits on the board of Hendricks House and presides over the Hansen Foundation. She founded the Hansen House rehab facilities, both for men and women, and expanded her recovery endeavors with the Serenity Houses. Passionate about fundraising for recovery causes, Jennifer orchestrates annual events, including the Hansen Foundation Charity Golf Tournament and the Street Life Concert.
Outside of her professional commitments, Jennifer enjoys an array of activities, from sailing and surfing to snow skiing. She lives in Margate, New Jersey, with her husband Jon and their three children.
Today, as the CEO of Enlightened Recovery and President of the Hansen Foundation, Jennifer's empire includes Serenity Estates, Enlightened Farm, and most recently, Enlightened Designs as she follows yet another passion of designing houses. Over two decades, she has cultivated a holistic recovery community, offering mentorship to those grappling with addiction. Recognized for her contributions, she has received numerous accolades, including the Sea Award for Advocacy, the Brian H. Early Community Leadership Award, and the 2017 South Jerseyan of the Year Award.

Notably, Robert co-founded Enlightened Solutions, an organization dedicated to providing hope and healing to individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.
Robert is distinguished as a licensed clinician and holds the esteemed certification of clinical supervisor, further showcasing his expertise in the field. Robert has also shared his knowledge and experience as an adjunct professor at Atlantic Cape Community College, nurturing the next generation of professionals.
In 2021, Robert assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer at Ole Hansen, a revered family business deeply rooted in South Jersey's history. In 1918, Ole Hansen was the project manager for the Company that constructed the first wooden-based bridge in Barnegat Bay

Under the management of Ole Hansen’s sons, Haubert and Walter, OHS constructs the causeway and dual-bridge of the Garden State Parkway over the Great Egg Harbor Bay linking Atlantic and Cape May counties, a major accomplishment at the time This span is now known as the Beesley Point Bridge.
Using innovative construction techniques, a 10-mile pipeline is built for the Toms River Chemical Corporation. This pipeline runs under the Garden State Parkway and other major highways, across Barnegat Bay, under a peninsula, and extends more than three-quarters of a mile into the Atlantic Ocean.

Enlightened Farm opens under the Hansen Foundation to provide organic food to the Enlightened Solutions treatment program as well as horticultural and equine therapy services. The Enlightened Farm started a job training program to help clients prepare themselves before returning to work while also teaching clients sustainability practices such as composting, recycling and regenerative agriculture.
Enlightened Solutions Detox opens a 26-bed medical detoxification facility in west Atlantic City, NJ for those suffering from Substance Use Disorder, detoxing patients from heroin, alcohol, benzodiazepines, fentanyl, meth and various other substances.
Enlightened Café opens in Ventnor, NJ – nourishing the community with organic food and good vibes. Jennifer Hansen started the café to give those early in recovery a safe place to work, a place for the community to enjoy organic food, juice, smoothies and coffee drinks while reducing the stigma surrounding addiction. They also host yoga classes and 12-step meetings in the back.
